Tomb Raider series Re-booted!

I have always loved the Tomb Raider series. I remember playing the first one at a friends house when I was about 8 I think. And then I remember getting the Tomb Raider II game for christmas when it first came out! I was sooo excited!! It is actually one of my favorite christmases I can remember from my childhood. We had all family gathered at my fathers house in Tromsö, Norway. I also remember getting the Independence Day movie on VHS! GOOD TIMES! :) On of my all time favorite movies! (I know own it in Blu-Ray, and the sound in this movie is off the hook!

Anyways, Square Enix is making a “remake” or we can call it a “reboot” of the Tomb Raider series. And they actually seem to know what they are doing. This is a little gameplay trailer, and it looks beautiful! And I love the fact that they made Lara like a real, normal girl! She reminds me of some characters from the Silent Hill series, (Heather from SH3). It looks really good! I can’t wait to play this! But we have to wait until march 2013! But I don’t mind.. :)

Doom 3 BFG Edition

Yaaay!!!

One of my favorite games of all time is Doom 3!! There is something about the moody atmosphere and the intriguing story, that I can’t help to love! I remember back in the day when I first played it on my old Pentium 4 computer. This game rocks! And you had to have a very fast computer to play it! Now they have made an remastered version for the consoles!! :D Yaaay!!! I can’t wait to re-live this haunting nightmare again! :) It will feature new levels and new content!! How fantastic!!

Will definitely preorder this for my 360!!

Area 11.1

Ahh we had ourselves a nice movie night yesterday. We were watching TinTin again, in Swedish, so that Liam understood it. :) you should have seen his face! He was so into the movie.

I talked to my boy Claes a few days ago. He had some fantastic news about his home cinema / studio. He is totally upgrading his rig! A new 3D monster projector from JVC, new electrostatic speakers from Martin Logan and new preamps. This will result in a complete audio mayhem in 11.1! That is freakin INSANE!!!

I can’t wait to mix my new tracks in there. :) looking forward!

Kalia is sleeping in her baby sitter. Liam is playing on the floor and watching Swamp Bob Squarepants.

I’m heading to work in one hour. Need to pick up more coffee. Mine is out!

A weekend with games and diapers

Hey people!

At the moment I’m playing some Skyrim. What a fantastic game this is.. I am about 40 hours in the game, level 18 with my Wood Elf – Kalia. ;)

She is so cool and super awesome! My favorite weapon in all of Bethesda’s games is of course Archery! I simply LOVE the feeling when you sneak up on an enemy about 30-40 meters away. You pull up your bow, aim right at the chest of you enemy, and let go of your arrow. Ssscchhmaack! 2x sneak damage, and you enemy does a huge backflip from the power of the piercing arrow! :D Ahhh what a feeling!

No but serious, it is absolute stunning. The graphics and atmosphere is so lifelike. I know that I always talk about atmosphere, but in my opinion it is the most important ingredient in a video game. I want to forget about anything else. I want to feel like I’m in the game. Second most important ingredient is of course the music, since it contributes so much to the feeling and atmosphere. And let’s just say that the musical score of Skyrim is one of the best I have ever heard. End of story.

So let’s continue talk about games. The Pirelli car pack for Forza Motorsport 4 hit the marketplace a few days ago. It’s always nice with more car, since they are so well done. The best news I’ve heard in a while is that Porsche is now officially coming back to Forza in a complete Porsche car pack! I SAY: HALLELUJAH!!

I can’t wait to blaze through the Alps course in a brand new Porsche 911! EPIC! Just Epic! :)

Kalia just went to sleep, she is eating like a little monster. Her baby fat is so cute. <3

Sick as a dog

Hey guys!

What is new? Well.. I have got this insanely annoying cold. I hope to come back to work tomorrow!

Last week, me and my brother Elias “SHY” Ringquist finished a track for a major label. We keep our fingers crossed that something great will come out of it! We are really proud of this track! It is simply amazing. :)

Lasst weekend I finished Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception with Liam. No more Uncharted for a while.. :(
I really hope Naughty Dog Studios will consider making another one! Since these games are nothing but INCREDIBLE! GAME OF THE YEAR in my opinion!

Since I got this cold, I have been playing trough some more games. I finally had the time to finish Dead Space 2 and Undead Nightmare! DS2 was good! Better than the first “techincally”, but I still think the story was better in the first one. But Undead Nightmare is so freaking awesome!! It feels like you are playing trough an old Romero movie. The soundtrack, the creepy atmosphere is there and the story is perfectly executed by Rockstar Games as usual!

Have you every played Red Dead Redemption or UN with headphones? This is absolutely the best way to enjoy these games. When you walk around on the open landscapes you can almost feel the nightly breeze in your clothes. And if you walk inside an old barn or rusty house, or an railway station in the middle of the day in the steaming sun, you can almost smell the old wood. It is just perfect!! :D

I think I’ll tryout some Battlefield 3 single player now! Hope it is fairly good!

Wednesday surprise

Good morning!

I just have to tell you about my lovely night with my brother Simon. He came to visit from Malmö on wednesday. Paula told me she was sleeping at her mom’s place

and that I could have the whole apartment to myself, if I meet up with one of her customers and deliver a pair of shoes.

Around 21:00.. Someone is at the door. My first though was that it is probably the customer or maybe Simon who managed to catch an earlier flight. But when I open the door, there is a man smiling outside with the largest christmas bag I have ever seen.

- “John Svartberg..?”
- “Yes, are you here for the shoes?”
- “No.. I just wanted to tell you that someone loves you deeply..”

The man hands over the large bag and wishes me a merry christmas.
I’m thanking him and closing the door.

When I open the lovely bag, this is what’s inside!

Chips, dip, candy in all different forms, Red Bulls, Coca-Cola, Snickers, The Elders Scrolls: SKYRIM on 360 and a note that says “I love you, have a nice evening..” ;)  WHAT A LOVELY GIFT!! I was sooo chocked!! Paula knows me inside out!!

Thank you for a lovely gift! You are the best woman a young man can ask for! <3 Jag älskar dig!

Simon and I had some real catch up to do. It was so much fun to see each other again. You are missed here lil’ bro! I am so proud of you! Keep rocking at your school! :)

Uncharted saturday

Hey good saturday!

How are you guys doing? I am all good!

Tonight I’m off to see Tiësto at Globen! It’s been a while since I was out at a party, I think it will be FUN! At least the music will be great! There are some other warm up DJs before but I don’t care about them. I’m all in for Tiësto! :D

Liam woke me up a few hours ago with a BIG smile. “John it is time for Uncharted 3..!!”. Yeah! It is so awesome! So far it is the best in the series! I think Drakes Fortune was better than Among Thieves. But this game series is one of the best I have ever played. It is the first time in YEARS since I feel like I want to replay a game. That does NOT happen regularly. Good job Naughty Dog! This is probably the best if not the ONLY good thing that came out of the PS3.. Except for MGS4 of course.

But still.. 4 good games? That’s it?! I hope Sony does some MAJOR changes with their next console launch, because if they don’t then I would probably not bother to buy it at all. PS3 is such an EPIC fail! I never get tiered of talking trash about Sony PS3, I guess you already get that! Haha! ;)

So when I came home last night, our christmas tree and all decorations was all set, thanks to Paula and Liam! It looks great! Real christmas:y! (:

I think I want to grab another breakfast sandwich, then we’ll jump right back into Uncharted 3!

Re-visit to San Andreas

Aaaahhh!!

I can’t wait to play a brand new GTA. It is one of my top 3 favorite game series! GTA IV is probably the game that I have spent most time in ever before. I can take a wild guess about 3-400 game hours. I have gained 100% in Liberty City. I love just “living” in GTA cities. Both Vice City and San Andreas are one of the best games ever made!

Whenever Rockstar Games release a new game, something magical happens to the game industry. People go bananas, everybody wants a piece of GTA! And now with a new visit to San Andreas in GTA V.. Can it get any better?! :D I don’t think so.. There are so many great games coming up! GAME OVERLOAD! I wish I could stop time and just play through all great games out there! I would love to get payed, playing video games.. Haha.. how about that?!

Look at all the details in this trailer.. It is Amazing how good they have become in creating a real breathing world. I wish I could visit Rockstar Games studio sometime, that would be freakin’ Sweet! :D
