A Monstrous day!

Hi there!

I have had an awesome afternoon at Scandic Anglais with Monster.

I have learned so much about the company, background and how to be a better salesman, when it comes to headphones and Hi-Fi cables.

First of Monster is a very cool company, not much unlike Apple. They simply do things differently, they innovate. Did you know that Monster actually has over 300 patents, in cable and audio development? Monster Cables was founded by Noel Lee in 1979, in his own garage. He was an early audiophile and professional drummer. When he recorded in the studio, he simply got frustrated because he could never recreate the live sound in his studio. An instrument can sound amazing in real life, but he could never get “the same” result in his studio speakers. Noel tried to replace the speakers, the microphones.. everything. But the problem stayed the same.

Then it hit him, “maybe it is the cables?”. Back in the 70s pretty much all speaker cables was the same. You even got them for free when you bought an Hi-Fi system at your local electronic store.

This was when Noel Lee started making his own audio cable, the Monster Cable. From this moment he changed the industry forever. Today, Monster is still as strong and growing everyday!

I have never been much into Beats by Dre headphones. I think it is to much focus on the wrong things. Of course they sound good, but not THAT good that I hoped for when I first heard about the hype.

But Monster also makes their “own” headphones. Like Monster Jams and Monster Turbines for example.. They are very nicely executed in both sound, design and Quality. There are some brand new models coming this year. Like Vektr (collaboration with Diesel). Inspiration is one of my new favorites! They focus on personal style. You can easily change the headbands, to match your outfit or personality.

I am pretty sure that Monster headphones will dominate the charts this year. And I am really looking forward to their new models, in the future. :)

I want to thank Monster Thomas and his U.K. college Adam Drane for a very nice afternoon.

12-16

Today I only worked from 12:00-16:00. What a nice workday right?! :)

At the moment we are at Hurry Curry close to Hötorget. Paula, Kalia and my mother in law Jacqueline. I’m having a cappuccino and a mango cheesecake. Tasty! :)

I think we are gonna watch a movie tonight.

On Wednesday I’m having an education meeting with Monster. The makers of Beats by Dre. I am looking forward to it! Perhaps they will give us a sneak of their new lineup? ;) I would love to see some new headphones from Monster that is NOT Beats by Dre!

Summer and Headphones

I really want some sunshine and warm winds over my town. It’s been too long. I want to be able to walk around with nothing more than a pair of shorts and a t-shirt! There will be a lot of baby strolling around town this summer. I can’t wait to visit Smaka På Stockholm in Kungsträdgården and do stuff like that.

Me and Paula are still discussing what we are doing this summer. We’ve talked about Disneyland, Florida and Paris. :) Who knows?

I am still looking for a new pair of headphones. I have adapted from my Genelecs, since I can’t play them at home anymore. I have done my last 10 productions in my headphones. :) I’m starting to like it a lot!

I still don’t know what pair to buy. I thought about the A900 from Audio-Technica. I LOVE the sound of them! They are SO airy and precise in the higher frequency bands. But I don’t know if they can deliver enough lows for my productions. And I’m a little bit skeptical about their headbands. We have had 2 pair that broke in the store at MM GALLERIAN in just 7 months. That is not something to brag about.

And I still like the expensive models of Sennheiser and AKG.

I seriously don’t like the Monster Beats. They can’t deliver anything right. The sound is so compressed and the lows is just CHAOS and takes over the whole sound image. The highs can barely be heard. They sound like metallic mids! I just hate it! It is too bad that people buy headphones because they “look cool”.

They sound like sh*t!!!

I’m going to make my own headphone model one day. Mark my words! ;)
